due to His blessings do I get to wake up gracefully, breath like I always do, walk like I've never been before and see the lovely faces of my family. alhmadulillah.

caring for an elderly is easy. says who? not me.

it sure is a tough job.

you'll never know until you yourself get to live with it.

and Allah reminded us in surah al-Isra' verse 23,

و قضى ربك ألا تعبدوا إلا إياه و بالوالدين إحسانا

 إما يبلغن عندك الكبر أحدهما أو كلاهما فلا تقل لهما أف و لا تنهرهما و قل لهما قولا كريما

Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. 

Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, 

nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.

don't even try to show that irritating face, if they happen to irritate you.

these elderlies, they know. they can somehow read your thoughts, your feelings, your love.

don't make them sad. don't let them know the feelings that you are battling with.

show em smiles, laughter, care.

they are elders. ought to be handled gently, tenderly.

they request us no more than our sincere attention.

facilitate them with our best service.

make sure we don't miss or regret the days when we had the chance to serve them

but didn't make full use of.
